Snakes are common symbols of Envy due to their green skin and eyes which are so cold, they seem to pierce through you and judge, calculating and scheming. The snake is a representation of envy in the bible as it is closely related to the leviathan snake which tempted Adam and Eve to consume the forbidden fruit, and is also associated with the fallen angel, Lucifer, who was envious of the power God held, and decided to stage a revolt.
Poison Ivies in the round frame symbolise the use of another being to grow and prosper without the use of ones own effort, a parasitic existence.
