Once an archangel, he rebelled against God and Heaven, and after his defeat, was cast down from paradise and sent to Hell, with all his followers. He is the Demon of Pride.
This is the first of the 7 princes of hell, Lucifer, the fallen angel. Following this, his design is supposed to be that of a fallen angel, with all the typical notions and symbols removed, but yet, it has some details which can tell you it was an angel: His wings still has feathers in the base and his horns resemble a Halo. Also, he is armed with a broken, flaming sword, representing his fall from heaven, as in some occasions he is represented as St. Michael's opposite, who is a broadsword wielding, armored archangel. His armor is decorated with shoulder pads with lions heads as lions are a symbol of strength and pride, appropriate for the demon prince of pride.
